Welsh communists send a message of solidarity to Osian Jones imprisoned for his opposition to corporate cultural imperialism in Wales.

Annwyl Osian, Gofynnodd Pwyllgor Canol y Blaid Gomiwnyddol Gymreig imi anfon gair atoch i’ch llongyfarch yn galonnog iawn ar eich safiad dewr dros y Gymraeg ac am dynnu sylw’r cyhoedd at y grymusterau ariannol, masnachol ac economaidd sy’n bygwth einioes ein hiaith a phob iaith arall, ac eithrio’r Eingl-Americaneg, a phob diwylliant arall, ac eithrio’r hyn a ganiateir ac a noddir gan y corfforaethau sy’n llywodraethu’r byd ar hyn o bryd. Dear Osian

The Executive Committee of the Welsh Communist Party has asked me to congratulate you on your brave stand on behalf of the Welsh language and for drawing the public’s attention to the monetary, commercial and economic forces which threaten the very existance of our language and of every other language with the exception of Anglo-American, and of every other culture with the exception of what is permitted and promoted by the corporations which rule the world at the present time.

We believe that Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg and yourself are on the right track and Welsh Communists look forward to working with Cymdeithas in the anti-imperialist struggle during the next twelve months.
